Westview Church is being changed by the Gospel,

in Christ treasuring Community,

and sent on Mission to the Glory of God.

Gospel

The gospel is the means by which God has chosen to change people. The Apostle Paul said in Romans 1:16 that the gospel is the power of God for Salvation to everyone who believes.  What many people don’t grasp is the gospel is also the power of God for our growth in everyday life. Colossians 1:6 says the gospel bears fruit and growth among God’s people from the first day they believed until now. We place a high value on living this life out of a gospel motivation and a gospel identity. That means we focus on who we are in Christ because of what he has already done for us.

Community

Community is quite simply God’s people together. Community is not a ministry or department of the Church but community is the Church. Since the creation of the world God has been seeking to create a people for himself who will display His glory. The Church is the fruit of what Christ accomplished on the cross in order to create a people for himself. We have the pleasure of living life out together as God intended in Christ treasuring community by which we display to the world what it’s like to live under the reign and rule of King Jesus.

Mission

The mission of God since the beginning of creation has been to create a people for himself who will display his glory. He has promised from the beginning to bless his people in order that they might be a blessing to the whole earth. God sent his son to earth in order to remove our sin, which separated us from God, and enabling us to display to the rest of the world how holy, just, gracious, merciful, loving and patient God is. Jesus said in John 20:21, “As the Father has sent me, even so I am sending you”. We believe God is still on a mission today to seek and save those who are lost and he has chosen to use his Church to be his agents of reconciliation (2 Corinthians 5:18). Therefore, we do not separate but rather engage the world around us in order to demonstrate and proclaim the gospel.
